When Caleb Wolfgram made the RoadRunners roster, word spread through the Topeka hockey community that the defenseman from White Bear Lake, MN was ‘tough as nails”. He wasted no time in living up to the hype, and the sound of a howling wolf soon became commonplace in Landon Arena. Now a Falcon at the University of Wisconsin – River Falls, “Wolfie” returns to add some grit to the blue line.

At 6’1”, 190 lbs., Wolfgram was a solid presence in the defensive zone. In two seasons with Topeka, he missed only 8 games, and posted a solid +25 rating while adding 5 goals and 21 assists. His 276 career penalty minutes ranks third most all-time in franchise history. “Wolfie was about as dependable as they come”, said head coach Scott Langer. “Every night you got a consistent effort, and that’s why he was in the lineup almost every night. He truly put the team first, and that’s what RoadRunner hockey is all about.”

Wolfgram and 18 other RoadRunner Alumni will try to knock off the 2010-11 RoadRunners in the Second Annual Alumni Game on Sunday Sept.5. In the Inaugural Alumni Game in 2009, the Alumni won 1-0. Sunday’s faceoff is at 12:00 noon, and tickets are on sale in the Expocentre Box Office.
