Wichita Falls rolls over Topeka, 6-2

The Wichita Falls Wildcats were firing on all cylinders against the Topeka RoadRunners, and when the final buzzer sounded Wildcats emerged with a 6-2 win.

Jeff Baum was all over the ice for Wichita Falls, as he racked up two goals in the win. Baum\’s tallies came on the power play at 6:50 into the first period to make the score 1-1 and on the power play 19:41 into the first to make the score 4-2 Wichita Falls.

The Wildcats got an offensive boost from their blueliners, who contributed two goals during the game. Wichita Falls put 31 shots on net during the contest, more than the 25.0 it averages per game.

Wichita Falls also got points from Austin Beaulieu, who also finished with one goal and one assist and Nick Rosa, who also registered one goal and one assist. Others who scored for Wichita Falls included Adam Goodsir and Andre Pison, who each put in one. Other players who recorded assists for Wichita Falls were Ben Lown, who had two and Holden Cronin, Ryan Burnett, Max Reisinger, Aleksi Poikola, Nikita Litviak, and Austin Albrecht, who each chipped in one.

Topeka was helped by Carlos Fornaris, who grabbed one goal. Fornaris scored 8:18 into the first period to make the score 2-1 Topeka. Jack De Matteo picked up the assist. Topeka also got a goal from Max Harper as well. In addition, Topeka received assists from Yu Hikosaka, Tyler Hayes, and Luka Maver, who contributed one each.

Justin Kapelmaster made 24 saves for the Wildcats on 26 shots. Wichita Falls incurred 14 minutes in penalty time with seven minors. Tyler Johnson recorded 25 saves for the RoadRunners. Topeka incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
