The speedy and skilled forward Travis Stevens will make his first appearance with the RoadRunners Alumni Team next month, the team announced today.

The 5’9”, 165 lb. forward from Montclair, CA caught the attention of RoadRunners head coach Scott Langer when he was playing right wing for the NAHL’s Alaska Avalanche. “He was tenacious, always battling no matter what the score was”, said Langer. “Those are the kind of players you love to have on your team.” Stevens came to Topeka in a deal that sent Joe Harren to Alaska, a trade that worked well for both sides. Stevens contributed right away on special teams, both power play and penalty kill as his speed and forecheck skills came into play. His second season in Topeka he exploded for 19 goals and 15 assists, and tied for second best on the team with a plus +16 rating.

After his junior career ended, Stevens took a year off before accepting an offer to attend and skate for Plymouth State University. He will don his old #8 when the Alumni take on this year’s RoadRunner squad on Sunday September 5 at 12:00 noon. For tickets, visit the Expocentre Box Office or call 785-297-1000.
