Topeka RoadRunners forward Nick Granowicz has landed a call-up to the Cedar Rapids Roughriders of the United States Hockey League, effectively immediately, for the 2017-2018 season.
Topeka receives future considerations in the trade.
Granowicz leaves the NAHL as the leading points’ scorer with 30 points in 25 games this season. The Macomb, Michigan native was in his second season with the RoadRunners, having notched seven goals and 17 assists last year.
“Nick has been the epitome of excellence this entire season,” RoadRunners head coach Justin DeMartino said. “Nick is a great person on and off the ice, and his love and devotion for hockey has been contagious.”
Granowicz joins a RoughRiders team who are currently 7-8-0 on the season in the USHL Eastern Conference.
“We know he will do great things while he’s up in Cedar Rapids,” DeMartino said. “We wish him nothing but the best.”
