RUNNER ALUMNI GARNER AWARDS

A pair of Topeka RoadRunner alumni were honored this week in separate conferences.

Josh Kamrass (Curry College) was named ECAC Northeast Rookie of The Week, netting 2 goals and an assist in a pair of road games. He had a power play goal and assisted the game winner on Thursday as Curry defeated Utica 4-3. On Friday he scored another power play goal, his sixth goal of the season as Curry held off Geneseo 3-2.

Andrew Blazek (Robert Morris University) won a double honor, being recognized as the CHA Offensive Player of the Week AND Rookie of the Week at the same time. He played a huge role in the Colonials sweep of Alabama-Huntsville, by scoring a goal and adding three helpers. for a total of 4 points on the weekend. In Friday\’s game, he earned his first career point via an assist, finishing the game with two assists for his first multi-point game. On Saturday, he added an assist and scored the eventual game winning goal. He earns the Offensive POW award while playing as a defenseman.

In 13 weeks of the season, a former RoadRunner has been named Rookie Of The Week in the CHA 7 times. Jordan George (Bemidji State) has claimed the award six times,
