ROADRUNNERS TO CLOSE OUT PRESEASON IN ABERDEEN

The Topeka RoadRunners will finish their preseason with a pair of games in South Dakota against the Aberdeen Wings of the NAHL's Central Division on the 7th and 8th of September.

The Wings joined the NAHL in the 2010-11 season, missed the playoffs and finishing in last in their division. They rebounded in 2011-12 by earning their first playoff berth with a 29-24-7 record. The team skates in the 1,600 seat Odde Ice Center and led the Central in attendance with a reported 1,280 fans-per-game last season.

The RoadRunners and Wings have never met, but this weekend series will be a valuable experience for both clubs who begin the 2012-13 season on September 12th in Blaine, MN at the NAHL Showcase Tournament. "We're looking forward to our first trip to South Dakota,” said Head Coach / GM Scott Langer. "To be able to get a full scale weekend of NAHL action will be the perfect way to prepare ourselves for the Showcase, and the same is true for them as well"

The games will be available on pay-per-view at www.topekaroadrunners.com, through FASTHockey. Game time each night is 7:15 pm.
