PLYMOUTH, Mich. – Four members of the Topeka RoadRunners competed recently at the NAHL Top Prospects showcase, a two-day event where they were able to display their talents in front of NCAA and NHL scouts.
RoadRunner goaltender Ryan Snowden, as well as captain Marshall Bowery and teammate Jeff Makowski, all competed for the NAHL East squad, while Topeka defenseman Matt Barnes played for the NAHL Selects team.
Snowden finished as one of the top goaltenders in the Showcase, coming up especially large in Tuesday’s 4-2 win over the Mid-West club. Snowden came in half-way through the game and shut down the opponent, stopping 14 of 15 shots – including some dazzling saves in the final moments to preserve the victory.
In Monday’s opener, Snowden got the start and stopped 12 of 13 shots en route to a 4-2 win over Barnes’ NAHL Selects club. Makowski came up with a goal and an assist in the win, while Bowery chipped in with an assist.
