ROADRUNNERS RELEASE 2011 PRESEASON SCHEDULE
The Topeka RoadRunners, in preparation for the upcoming 2011-12 NAHL season, have released their preseason schedule which includes four games, including two against South Division rival Amarillo.
After completing Training Camp in Independence, MO, the RoadRunners will host the ACHA Division I Central Oklahoma Bronchos at Landon Arena on Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day Weekend. The Bronchos program is in its sixth year of existence. The UCO campus is located in Edmonds, OK, a suburb to the north of Oklahoma City. “We are excited to have an opportunity to welcome Central Oklahoma to Topeka for the weekend. They are a well-respected program and will provide a solid test for our players as we form our final roster”, said Head Coach / GM Scott Langer.
The ‘Runners close out their preseason competition on the road with two games in Amarillo, set for Wednesday and Thursday, September 7 and 8. As an expansion team who inherited the remnants of the Albert Lea Thunder’s roster in 2010-11, the Bulls and ‘Runners immediately forged a fierce rivalry that carried through the postseason.
Historically, Topeka has done well in the preseason, going 15-1-0 since moving to Kansas in 2007. The only loss was to the Alumni Team, a 1-0 loss in 2009. Of the 16 preseason games, 6 of them have been against NAHL opponents. Only 2 have been on the road, one in Owatonna in 2007 and one in Atlanta in 2010.
All four RoadRunners preseason games will be webcast through countrylegends1069.com.
