ROADRUNNERS 2015 NAHL ENTRY DRAFT RECAP

The North American Hockey League Conducted their 2015 Entry Draft on Tuesday and the Topeka RoadRunners were eligible to select seven players. The following is an outline of those draft picks.

First Round (18th overall): Eric MacAdams, RW, 5'11''/180lbs, 18 years old

MacAdams played at Austin Prep HS in the Boston area. He played in two Massachusetts Super 8 Finals and three Massachusetts Super 8 Final Fours. He was named to the Boston Herald All-Scholastic Dream Team and the ESPN Boston All State Team in 2015. SBNation.com ranks Eric as the top uncommitted prospect in Massachusetts.

Second Round (41st overall): Zack Metsa, RD, 5'9"/165lbs, 17 years old

Metsa played for the Milwaukee Jr Admirals in the Tier I Elite Hockey League. He's a strong skating defenseman with great vision and a high offensive upside. Metsa has been one of the top scoring defensemen in the Tier I Elite League for the last two years and is a leader on the power play. He has committed to Quinnipiac University.

Third Round (63rd overall): Jiri Hozak, LW, 6'4"/185lbs, 19 years old

Hozak played for Detroit Little Caesar's in the High Performance Hockey League. A native of the Czech Republic, he is a good skater with good hands and great playmaking ability. Hozak was in the top 10 in points in the HPHL this year and was an important part of the team's success in winning the Michigan State Championship and a trip to the National Tournament.

Fourth Round (85th overall): Zach Hoffman, RD, 6'1"/190lbs, 17 years old

Hoffman played for the Ajax Pickering Raiders Midget AAA Team in Ontario. He is a 2014 draft pick for the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League. He is a big, strong defenseman who skates well and is an impact player.

Fifth Round (107th overall): Matthew Hudie, RW, 6'0"/170lbs

Like Jiri Hozak, Hudie also played for the Detroit Little Caesar's in the HPHL. He is a skilled, hard-working player with a good scoring touch who tied for the league lead in the scoring race this season. Hudie and Hozak were teammates on the same National Championship qualifying team.

Sixth Round (124th overall): Quincy Gregg, LD, 5'9"/170lbs, 19 years old

A graduate of the Salisbury School, Gregg was a member of three different New England Prep School Championship teams. As an Assistant Captain in his senior year, he anchored a defensive corps that gave up only 46 goals in 29 games. In three years, Gregg received a varsity letter when the Salisbury Knights went an astounding 68-10-9. All three teams won the New England Prep School Championship.

Seventh Round (139th overall): Quinn Preston, C, 5'10"/175lbs, 17 years old

Preston was a senior captain for Trenton High School in Michigan. He is a highly regarded, hard-nosed player who has a prolific scoring touch. Preston developed a reputation for toughness after playing with a broken wrist for the second half of last season.
