The RoadRunners will begin their fifth season since moving to Topeka at the annual NAHL Showcase Tournament in Blaine, MN. This years schedule has expanded to 60 games, two more than the previous four years. This adjustment was made to allow for better, more favorable and balanced scheduling across the league. As a result, Topeka will host 28 games in Landon Arena compared to 27 in previous seasons.
In the Showcase Topeka will face 4 new opponents whom they've never seen: Fresno, Port Huron, Chicago, and Jamestown. (Jamestown, however was formerly the Motor City Machine / Metal Jackets, against whom the 'Runners are 1-1-0 all time). The 'Runners home opener will be Oct.7 and 8 against the Wichita Falls Wildcats.
This season the RoadRunners will return to Fairbanks for a two-game set to face the defending Robertson Cup Champions. That trip, set for late February will include a two-game stop in Wenatchee, WA.
Other notable home dates include the Amarillo Bulls first visit back to Landon Arena on November 11-12, a New Years Eve tilt with the Springfield Jr. Blues, and the only visit of the Odessa Jackalopes (formerly the Owatonna Express) on March 31 – April 1.
