HIGBY HONORED BY NAHL

      After a season in which he broke franchise records in Topeka, forward Erik Higby was showered with league awards on Monday night during the NAHL Banquet of Champions, the annual precursor to the Robertson Cup Tournament.

      At the Topeka RoadRunners Year End Banquet on Wednesday April 28, Higby was awarded \”Offensive Player of The Year\” and \”Most Valuable Player\”. That was just the beginning. During Monday\’s banquet in Wenatchee, WA Higby was named to the All-NAHL team, he was crowned \”NAHL Forward of the Year\”, and to top it off, he was also designated the \”NAHL Most Valuable Player\”. It  was further announced that he will be the NAHL\’s lone nominee for USA Hockey Junior Player of the Year, an award that encompasses not just on-ice production, but conduct off the ice as well. The future Northern Michigan University Wildcat will join nominees from the USHL and each of the Tier III Junior A leagues in being considered for the award, to be named during USA Hockey\’s Annual Congress, held in June in Colorado Springs, CO.
