Bridges Ties Record Blanking Brahmas
One shy shutout shy of the RoadRunners franchise single-season record, PJ Bridges notched his eighth of the season and first over Lone Star in the Runners 3-0 win.
Yu Hikosaka had the game winner in the second. The goal was one of two points for Hikosaka who lead the team along with Zach Glienke (1 goal, 1 assist). Sam Rennaker added to the lead with his goal at 13:18 in the third, giving the Runners a comfortable 2-0 edge. The Brahmas attempted to gain an edge in the final two minutes, pulling goaltender Jett Salinas for an extra attacker. Glienke foiled the gambit with an empty netter at 18:22, cinching the game at 3-0.
Bridges was aided in the shutout by a suffocating defense that allowed a paltry 14 shots-on-goal all night. Neither team engaged in any real extracurricular activity either as there were only 10 combined penalty minutes in the game.
