Auburn-Washburn Visiting Author
Barnes & Noble Book Fair
Every other year the Auburn-Washburn Librarians jointly host an author or illustrator for our students. The parent organizations in individual buildings help to pay for the author’s daily presentation fee. Librarians raise money for other author expenses (ex. airfare, meals, and hotel stay).
To raise money for these author expenses and other district literacy projects, the librarians are hosting a Barnes & Noble Book Fair at the Barnes & Noble off Wanamaker on Saturday, December 3, from 9am to 5pm. If you shop on that day please consider supporting this activity by telling the cashier that your purchases are going toward the Auburn-Washburn Librarian’s Book Fair. A percentage of the day’s sales will go toward the librarian’s author fund. You also have the opportunity to order online and have the purchases count towards our district. From December 3rd through 8th, go to www.bn.com/mybookfair, our book fair I.D. # is 11988102. (Unfortunately, purchases of gift cards do not count.)
Also, while at the book fair, be sure to sign up for the drawing for $10.00 Barnes & Noble gift cards. Ten cards will be given away to district patrons. You do not need to be present to win. Adults and students are welcome to sign up.
Librarians will be available throughout the day if you are interested in suggestions for recommended reads for your student(s). We truly appreciate your support! If you have questions, please contact your school’s librarian.
Entertainment will occur throughout the day as follows:
9:15- Jay Shideler Early Morning Singers
10:15- Pauline Central Singers and Mr. Hageman will do magic tricks immediately following the performance.
